Project description:

The aim of the project was to contribute to the employment and social inclusion of members of the Roma community through the creative use of Roma culture and its integration into the ethno-tourist offer of the Roma settlement of Pušča near Murska Sobota.

Through project activities, we have integrated and strengthened the diverse cultural activities through the organisation of cultural events and activities, and provided visitors with an authentic experience of the Roma way of life. Workshop participants were trained in various aspects of Roma culture (cooking, music, dance, storytelling).

We have designed an ethno-tourist product as an intertwining of different cultural activities and created a business model of cooperation between different stakeholders with a varied cultural-tourist offer that can be offered to different target groups of guests.

Results achieved:

• 85 people from the Roma settlement of Pušča are included in the training.
• 50 people involved in job search, education/training, qualification or employment after the operation.
• Develop a new ethno-tourist product in the Roma settlement of Pušča, which combines traditional Roma cuisine, storytelling, music and folklore to provide visitors with an authentic experience of Roma culture.
• New music group Romano glauso (Romani voice), performing all over Slovenia.
